I retired after 34 years as an educator and began writing about the exceptional events and wonderful people that have enriched my life. Drawing on these experiences, I strive to recreate the emotion and impact of those special moments in life that touch us all.
My short stories have been published in the magazines, Reminisce and Good Old Days, Capper's, New Moon Network and Lake Simcoe Living, the syndicated newspaper feature, The Front Porch. and in the anthologies; Chicken Soup for the Soul (Christmas 2007 and Fathers and Sons 2008 and True Love 2009) My Teacher Is My Hero (FW Publications 2008) and A Cup of Comfort For Inspiration (2003) and Cup of Comfort For A Better World (2009).
My serialized Christmas stories have been featured annually since 2003 as a special holiday feature in the Orillia Packet and Times.
My work has also aired on CBC Radio One's First Person Singular and won first place in competitions held by; The Toronto Sun, The Orillia Packet and Times and The Owen Sound Sun Times.
My first book: “Angels Stars and Trees - Tales of Christmas Magic” (Your Scrivener Press 2007), an anthology of Christmas stories, was released to excellent reviews and is now in its second printing.
Currently I am working on a second Christmas anthology, and a humour anthology with hope of publishing one or both in 2011.
I am proud to be one of the founding members of the Mariposa Writers’ Group and have enjoyed a leadership role in the group, particularly in regard to our annual Lake Country Literary Lapses event.
I live in Severn Township near Orillia, Ontario, with my wife Carol, where we enjoy golf, travel and following the life adventures of our grown children Rob and Dana.
